::It's Janet Murray here. And if you're wondering, if you should take a break from social media over the summer, this episode is for you. If you feel like you need a break from social media over the summer, please don't feel guilty about it because you don't need to be on social media, 24 7 to grow a successful business. Posting four types of content.
::Four days a week is enough to grow your business. As long as you do that consistently, most weeks of the year, it really won't matter if you take a week off here or there or even several. So if you feel like you need time out this summer, just take it personally. I'm not a fan of scheduling content, unless you're going to be around to interact with your followers because it's not called social media for nothing,
::but you can even turn your break into a content opportunity. So let your followers know you're going to be taking a break and for how long then when you return, you can share some follow-up posts about what you learnt or how you benefited from your time off socials, or even whether you missed it or not. If you have a blog or podcast or some other kind of regular content you publish,
::then this is a great time to repurpose. So for example, you could republish some of your best episodes or blogs over the summer, or update them or do a Roundup of blogs on a particular topic. You really don't need to keep reinventing the wheel. Personally. I don't think you should take the whole summer off unless you are so burnt out. You absolutely have to.
::And I went into more detail on this, on another podcast episode, which is called, please, don't give up on your business this summer. I'll link to it in the show notes, but if you're feeling burnt out, if you've got to that point where you can't bear to look at social media anymore, and believe me, even as a content strategist,
::I get to that point too. Sometimes then just take the time that you need grab a pile of books, head to the beach or out to the country, or have a massive Netflix, binge, whatever you need to do to relax and really don't feel guilty about it. You're almost certainly come back refreshed and full of ideas. So I hope you found this episode useful and that it gave you permission to take time out if you need it.
::And that nothing terrible will happen if you do as ever. I do love hearing from you. If this episode resonated with you, then the best place to connect with me is on social media. I'm at Jan Murray UK on Instagram, and that's usually the best place to catch me.
